Dollhouse Lita de Ranitz 1910 The Hague the Netherlands

Aristocrat Lita de Ranitz left a large collection of dolls, doll`s houses and doll`s clothes and accessories to the Costume Museum in The Hague. Lita identified strongly with her doll`s house and traveled all over Europe in search of miniature and household objects for it. Particularly notable are the minuscule paintings by the famous Hague School artists she knew so well.

We have a winner!

Thank you to everyone that participated in my blog giveaway! There was a total of 26 entries including those that were entered twice for having a video posted on this blog. Each entry was assigned a number according to the order of the comments posted and I used random.org to choose the winning number.

I would like to extend a special thank you to all of the miniaturists and artists that create and share their videos! Without you, this blog would not be possible.....well, it would be possible but pretty boring if I only had my videos to post. =)

 And the winner is......

Who was number 15?.......

Congratulations to Victoria of Dark Squirrel ~Victoria's Miniature Asylum!

Please contact me with your address and I will send your Of Dolls & Murder DVD right out to you!

Creating Dollhouse Miniatures First Giveaway!

Creating Dollhouse Miniatures began in January of 2008 with 12 videos and a few followers. Today there are over 600 videos and my followers have grown to 657!  To say thank you and show my appreciation, I am having a giveaway and as a special thank you to those that create and share videos, you get to enter twice!

We can thank my husband for this giveaway. He bought me the DVD, Of Dolls & Murder and he mistakenly purchased the "2 DVD Special", which clearly states right at the top of the page, "Give the gift of murder and keep one for yourself!". Apparently my husband missed that. One lucky follower will reap the rewards of my hubby's mistake and receive the gift of murder (one unopened copy of- Of Dolls & Murder on DVD)!

The documentary film, Of Dolls and Murder, explores a collection of miniature crime scenes, known as the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death. Frances Glessner Lee created the Nutshells in the 1930's and 40's, to help train homicide detectives and, despite all the advances in forensics the Nutshells are still used today.

To enter the giveaway:
1: You must be a follower of this blog, Creating Dollhouse Miniatures.
2: You must leave a comment on this post to let me know your all time favorite video on this blog.
3: "Like" My Small Obsession on Facebook (completely on the honor system, because I trust and appreciate all of you!)
4: If you are the creator of a video/slideshow posted on this blog, please leave a second comment to let me know and you will be entered twice!

I will draw the name of the winner on Friday, March 9th 2012 and post the name of the winner on Saturday, March 10th, 2012!

Good luck, and thanks for a terrific 4 years!
